Sauna FAQs
How hot does the sauna get?
Typically between 70-90 degrees celsius.
What should I bring?
2 towels - one to sit on in the sauna and the other to dry off with afterwards
A bottle of water (insulated metal bottles are great as your water will stay cold in the sauna
Flip flops or similar footwear
Where can I get changed?
We recommend arriving already in your bathing suit
Depending on the location of the sauna there may be facilities such as toilets/changing rooms.
Some of our locations are remote, in which case we have a pop up tent style changing facility.
Please bear in mind this can only fit one person at a time for changing.
How long do you recommend going in the sauna for?
We recommend up to 15 minutes in the sauna followed by a cooling off period. This is known as contrast therapy - getting hot in the sauna and then using cold water such as our outdoor shower/a bucket of water.
Repeat the cycle for the length of the session you have booked.
Pay attention to your body's signals and step out if you feel uncomfortable.
What should I wear?
Typically people wear swimwear in the sauna, but please feel free to cover up with a t-shirt if preferred. You will need to bring flip flops or sliders, and a robe if you like.
We also recommend some warm clothing for after the experience.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive 10 minutes before your booking to allow time for a quick briefing and to get changed if necessary (although we recommend arriving in your swimwear)
Can I eat in the sauna?
Food is not permitted whilst inside the sauna, but feel free to bring a snack to eat outside the sauna. Salty snacks are recommended for replenishing minerals after a sauna.
Can children go in the sauna?
Children aged 7 or over are permitted to use the sauna, however anyone under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Children must be supervised at all times. Children under the age of 7 are not permitted to use the sauna.
What is the capacity in the sauna?
ScandiBox can fit up to 7 people at once
Do I need to book?
Booking ahead is recommended—walk-ins are welcome, but spaces are not guaranteed.
What facilities do you have?
Facilities can be limited at all our locations so we recommend coming appropriately dressed for your sauna session and removing jewellery at home. Please also leave valuables at home or in your car.
The saunas have hooks to hang your robes and towels.
Not all locations have access to a toilet, so please bear this in mind before your arrival.
Who can use the sauna?
We try our very best to make the sauna as inclusive as possible. However, due to the nature of the sauna there are some reasons why you might not be able to use our saunas.
All persons using the sauna do so at their own risk. If you have any reservations regarding sauna use, such as medical conditions, underlying health problems, the use of prescription drugs or pregnancy, it is essential that you consult your GP before making a booking.
